I just started working on a Heathkit Most Reliable Clock Kit. It has been a fun process thus far for me to really hone in on my soldering skills. I have plenty of practice making custom mechanical keyboards, but it has been some while since I have done so, and my solder joints reflect it. Thus far, the kit has been fun. I think there may have been an error in my assembly guide as the color coding for my resistors was incorrect. I ultimately needed to verify them with a multi-meter prior to install. As of this post, it is still a work in progress. I would like to have it complete within the next few weeks.

I am really drawn to kits, I enjoy the electrical theory, but what I enjoy the most is the process of following steps to an outcome. At its core, I think that is why I love(d) Lego sets as as kid. One issue I have that really interferes with the experience, is that I do not like putting my work down for later. I want to do the whole thing in one sitting which I know introduces risk. Luckily, I was able to put it down after getting my diodes and resistors in place.
